I still like to think I am on the younger side of the new Triangle Church but looking back it has still been a very eventful and important few years of my life.

I started at Harvey Street about 19 years ago and as my Grandma had been looking after me on the Saturday night I had gone to church the day after.

Because of a Sunday School segment we were getting ready for under the guidance of Steph Shipley I ended up a permanent member of the church family as I had been given something to read out a couple weeks later. It was wobbly ground for me throughout the years in between and after a few changes in the Sunday School and me sometimes being there and sometimes not I finally decided that it was a strong part of who I was and tried to get a bit more involved.

Of course then the news came that we were in trouble along with two other churches and it seemed that we were all going to have to come together as one church. At the time I remember not wanting to be a part of either of the other churches, after all this was my home. I had even had my 21st actual Birthday there. But as I had been helping with the steadily declining Sunday School at Harvey Street, I decided that it was more important to do my part in what was inevitably going to happen. It seemed Chorley Old Road’s Sunday School had all but disappeared as well as our own and so the obvious thing to me, was to go to Astley Bridge, where there was still a decent sized Sunday School. I thought that, if we could use the children as a beacon, to show all three churches that ‘we’ could all come together then they would all be less apprehensive over the coming years of change.

Over the last 5 years in particular my bond with our church (which ultimately is the people, even though we have been blessed with a fantastic piece of architecture) and my faith have both grown stronger than ever and I consider ‘The Junior Church’ one of the most important parts of my life and in fact they are very much a family to me and constantly keep me smiling. I am very much looking forward to our ‘First’, First Nativity in the New Triangle CMC and MANY many more to come!
