Sunday's Streamed Service

On this second Sunday in Lent we confess that we have Resisted.

Leader: We have kept things for ourselves.
We have refused to give anything up.
We have protected our own interests
All: We repent and say sorry.

Leader: When we are tempted,
All: to be wasteful of our time
to be greedy for ourselves
to be selfish in our attitude

Leader: Remind us Jesus, that we can think with your mind
All: we can give something up
we can make a sacrifice
we can choose to go without. Amen

To remind us of our resistance we now place the symbol of the Whip at the foot of the cross.

We now sing verse 2 of Hymn 287. The words are on the screen. Please remain seated whilst we sing.

2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast
save in the death of Christ my God;
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.
