Service Review: 27th November

On the First Advent Sunday we welcomed Jeff Millington to lead our worship.

His theme was 'Are we ready for the return of Jesus?' and he opened with an amusing address to the children about what preparations they would make if they heard that the Queen was coming to visit their house.

The challenge to the congregation was what if it was our 'King', Jesus, coming not the Queen - would we be ready ? Or are we like everyone else overwhelmed by the commercialisation of Christmas, forgetting it is not just a holiday but a celebration of Christ's birthday. Christmas isn't just Christ's birthday, it is an opportunity for us all to reflect on what we have done or not done in the past 12 months and to be able to start again, to re-commit and to do our best to bring some peace, joy, goodwill & love not just at Christmastime but throughout the coming year.

God Bless us all.
