The theme today was – Jesus loves you, yes even you!.

It was illustrated through the one year old, Ella-Rose. Although she was too young to know about her ‘special day’ when all her family and friends had gathered to witness her baptism.

The day when she received God’s blessing. She behaved impeccably whilst being introduced to her ‘new family’ – the congregation.

The choice of lively hymns and the songs, accompanied the ‘Praise Band’, added to the joyous atmosphere.

The story of the Wemmicks, wooden people carved by Eli was used to emphasise the theme. If the carving or painting of a Wemmick was perfect a gold star was attached, or a grey dot if chipped or scratched. Further stars were added if any talents were shown, some Wemmicks being almost covered in gold stars.

Punchinello only had grey dots, but one day he was told to go to see Eli and was surprised when Eli called his name as he entered the workshop. ‘You know my name’, he exclaimed.

Yes of course I do, I made you and think you are something special, said Eli. Yes another reminder that God made us all and thinks we are ‘something special.
