Pensioners' Party

Eight people from the Triangle church were invited to join The Johnson Fold Resident Association's Christmas party at Hope Centre last Saturday.

The weather was bad but it didn't deter everyone coming. There were about 48 sat at tables enjoying the Christmas festivities and superb dinner which included starters, soup, prawn cocktail, melon, followed by Turkey, roast potatoes, vegetables, stuffing and cranberry sauce and then a choices of desserts, mince pies, tangerines, mints, coffee and tea to finish, served by the volunteers who came to help.

There were raffles to be won, bingo played and Christmas music being played in the background and everyone was very relaxed and enjoying each others company. The afternoon went very quickly and everyone received a present when they left. Thank you to the Residents Association for inviting us and all the hard work they put in to make the day go with a swing.

Do Nothing To Change Your Life

Call to worship: Jesus said “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Spiritual de-clutter

Les has always said that when I die on my grave stone it’s going to say “She cluttered!” I do clutter it’s quite true. I don’t like to throw things away and I’m the magpie that collects everything because you never know when it will come in useful! Everything can be turned into a sermon illustration!
