The second of our monthly Food,Faith and Fellowship meetings took place this week on Wednesday 15 th of April.

The meeting began as usual with a shared meal which everyone enjoyed. The theme was the Fruits of the Spirit and this month, we thought about Joy.

The meeting was led by Sue Snowden who is the Church Development and Pastoral support Worker for the Circuit.

She began by inviting everyone to look at slides of Our Wonderful World. These included shots of animals and views of the countryside. We were then led in prayer.

There then followed a discussion with feedback on what makes us happy. This led into thoughts on what fills is with Joy and again there was feedback.

Next, was an open discussion about whether there is a difference between feeling Happy and feeling Joy and was it possible to feel Joy without feeling grateful.

In between these discussions, we were given sheets to colour to help us focus on Joy. (This part of the evening went down very well.)

At the close of the meeting, everyone was given a Grateful stone.

The meeting closed with a shared blessing and people went home having had a very enjoyable evening and looking forward to the next Fruit of the Spirit which is to be led by Hilary.
