Jesus and the Wedding Feast

Jesus and the Wedding Feast - no need to bring a bottle! John 2 1-13.

Last night's speaker was Revd. Karen Lund from Christ's Church Walmsley. About 33 people came and enjoyed a lovely buffet and share fellowship with friends. Part of our fellowship is to engage in discipleship and we always need to go back to God to put things right.

Karen spoke on this parable and started off by saying we don't need to bring anything just a williness to know more about Christ.

the wedding celebration was going well at Cana and then they ran out of wine.

Just like any mother who has a nurturing role and wants everything right for any celebration Mary too steps in to put things right . Jesus crosses the boundaries as he wasn't ready yet to put it right and fills six water jars with water and they turn into wine.

God takes us beyond our boundaries and comfort zone and we just need to trust him and he will constantly refill us with his spirit and love.

W e are never to old or young and each one of us has the capacity to be filled with the spirit and this is symbolic of the church as individuals and to be continually topped up.

Our thanks to Karen for her talk and May God continue to bless your ministry.
