Lent Liturgy for Week 5: Symbol 'The Whip'

Today is the fourth Sunday in Lent and we shall place the symbol of the whip.

Please respond with the words in bold type.

God seeks to restore creation – to remake the life of the world.
In the life of Jesus, we see the fullness of humanity –
And God’s hope for the world.
God seeks to restore creation –
Through transforming the cruelty of our human nature.
Through the love and mercy of Christ. Amen.

We shall now sing Verse 5 of “When I survey the Wondrous Cross”. Please remain seated during the singing.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were an offering far too small:
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
