Christmas Dinner On Jesus

Over the week of the 18th December a group of us from church went along to Urban Outreach to help prepare the Christmas Hampers.

The hampers are given out to struggling families and individuals in the community and contained everything they needed to have a traditional Christmas Dinner.

Different jobs were allotted, such as putting the menus together, making up the boxes, filling the boxes with food, and putting labels on the boxes and carrying the boxes through, everyone was allocated a job to do.

Over Monday and Tuesday 1200 hampers were completed, then on the Wednesday transported over to another Unit, ready for the vegetables, fruit, sausages, cheese and a chicken to be put with them. On Friday people went to the collection point to take their allotted number of hampers ready for distribution. From our church, we nominated 12 names and 4 of us distributed the hampers to the families. Everyone who received the hampers were thrilled to bits to receive them. They could sit down and have a Christmas dinner given by the people of Bolton who had donated different items of food, bringing Christ’s love into their homes.

Thank you to all those who came along and gave their time to help make the Christmas Hampers.
